Peace of Mind
A dog you can’t predict is a recipe for disaster. Not only does it add anxiety to your daily life, it’s adding uncertainty for your dog. We give you and your dog the confidence you need.
Owner Education
It’s not just about improving your dog, it’s about you understanding your dog and their behaviors. What does their body language mean? What do you need to provide for them to succeed?

We're Here To Help You

Dawg Boss is a woman, military-owned business based out of Richmond, Virginia. Our goal is to give owners the support and education they need to be the best owners they can be, while showing dogs the meaning of ‘good’ in the human world. We are not here to judge you, or shame you. We are here to help you. Our business is run from a place of empathy, because the relationships we share with our pets are some of life’s greatest gifts. We want your dog to thrive in your home, and for you to give them the tools and resources to do that.

The in person evaluation gets our trainers to look at your dog and analyze their behavior and mental state. The trainers see things you don’t or maybe things you do see but they are looking through the lens of an animal professional and can read your dog in a matter of seconds or minutes. The evaluation is meant to address all of your concerns and to leave you with solutions that you can implement THAT day. We want you to feel like there is in fact an answer on the horizon. From there, you and your train will pick a program together to reach your ultimate goals.

Even though your dog only does a few very specific things “wrong” that are causing you concern, there is a bigger picture we must look at. The reason your dog is “jumping counters” is an impulse control issue, which means there is also a leadership issue and there is probably a lack of mental and physical stimulation occurring. Each issue has so many sub issues below it. The best bet is to schedule an In person evaluation to see what our expert trainers think is actually going on.

We are a balanced dog training company so that means we believe in saying “Yes” and “No” to dogs. Before we are able to hold a dog accountable and say “No” we must teach them a standard. It is not fair to correct a dog for something they don’t even know is wrong.

We absolutely LOVE working with small dogs! We will train any dog, any size and any breed.

We will train any dog, even the tough cases that have bitten people or dogs. We do have safety measures in place for these types of dogs, and we educate owners on what those measures are prior to training.

Yes! We do a ton of transfer of learning training in our programs, we offer a midway lesson to owners that is 1 hour long, a 2 hour go home session, 1 follow up lesson a week after training and free group training for our clients.

We have a variety of kennel training drills on our youtube channel, please take a look here!

What Our Customers
Have To Say

Dawg Boss is the best!!! The training there is awesome! Our trainer was Karen and she did an outstanding job with dog, Dakota!

We were having some behavior issues with our scared, reactive GSD. . . After the board and train, our dog made so many improvements! His anxiety level was WAY lower and we are now able to do the things we’ve always wanted to do with him but couldn’t before. I highly suggest that anyone looking for an improvement in their dogs behavior to train with Brittney!
